Babes & Tots – 2 to 5 years
Have you noticed how active your little ones are when hearing music and songs?
They obviously love the feeling of moving to the tunes you play for them and doesn’t that make you smile.
Getting your child to to join in with others with music and movement has been proven to be beneficial for preschoolers. Not only does music and dance engages the brain but it also helps cultivate communication skills allowing them to express themselves. It also helps them learn skills like balance, control and coordination and encourages them to be curious and imaginative. Group activities like these also encourages social and interaction skills and they also get to form new bonds and friendships.
If you are looking for activities like these to develop and stimulate connections helping them to grow, then come along to one of our Saturday classes for 2 to 5 year olds.

Preps & Juniors – 6 to 10 years
As your child grows and becomes more confident, then so does the need for them to be more expressive and become more physically active to help burn up all that energy stored up inside them.
Dance and drama is a fantastic way to channel that energy and help develop spatial awareness. They become less clumsy and pay more attention to others who are sharing their space.
Did you know that singing is also an aerobic exercise that improves the efficiency of the cardio-vascular system, increasing the oxygenation of the blood and improving alertness.
Singing also helps reduce stress and increase longevity and general health. Improving airflow in the upper respiratory tract impedes the bacteria that can cause colds and flu.

Seniors – 11+ years
Many of the children coming to Starquest started dancing and performing when they were small, some were even babies when they started out with us.
Classes step up a level at this stage and we also introduce more show and production classes for that extra polish and flair. These classes are extremely popular add-ons to the popular ballet, tap, theatre craft and jazz.
As they get older they really start to value this time and space to develop and hone their skills and passions and some start to consider a future career path in the performing arts industry.
We have helped many progress to a performing arts college or university and are thrilled to see them flourish and become professionals in their own right, even going on to perform or teach. (See our successes page)
Some children discover a passion for performing at a later age and that’s great as we welcome all abilities and ages and it’s a joy to see them develop and gain confidence as they become part of the Starquest family.

What Starquest Performing Arts can offer
